On Windows Vista, I'm getting skips in the recorded files or the recorded files are missing audio from the first few seconds of the file when running MuvAudio2. How can I fix this?

First, please see I'm getting skips in my recorded files that helps resolve basic issues for Windows XP and Vista. If you still have issues with skips or are getting missing audio at the beginning of the recorded files on Windows Vista, this may be due to your soundcard driver/settings. To address this issue, please do the following (from http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html):
  1. Right-Click on the Speaker icon in the System Tray.
  2. Select Playback Devices.
  3. Right-click Speakers in the new Dialog.
  4. Go to Properties.
  5. Then go to Enhancements.
  6. Choose "Disable All Enhancements".
If this does not fix the issue, check with your sound card vendor for updated drivers. I believe Dell/Sigmatel has a driver update here that should correct the issue.
